Pool Pavilion, an Intriguing Recreational Building Design

Pool Pavilion is a very interesting project designed by Peter Gluck and Partners Architects and located in Adirondack mountains, New York, near Lake George. The residence has two levels and was built in order to have a recreational purpose for the owners, their family and friends. The exterior is highly original, especially the undulating roof which also serves as a green terrace for leisure. The ground level looks like a rift in its environment while the upper floor serves as a home office and as a “guarding point”. Floor to ceiling windows allow unobstructed views of the surrounding landscape here, as opposed to those from the first floor, that offer a limited perspective. This fun retreat houses a gym, a theater and a spectacular pool flanked with glass and iron panels. What do you think- appealing enough for a family vacation?

Italian company Hatria come up with an interesting idea for the bathroom that hides toilet and bidet smartly under the stylish solid wood cover, so when is not in use it converts into an elegant bathroom bench. Hidden away from view, the toilet and bidet are revealed when you flip up the wooden cover. The G-Full system is wall mounted, and is not something very useful but it looks good. – Via

The world's most expensive hotel opens up with the world's largest outdoor pool at 55th storey

It's finally happened! The $5.95 billion Marina Bay Sands Hotel, Singapore finally opened its doors to public in a gala event, and it also managed to dethrone the Emirates Palace Hotel, Abu Dhabi from its position as the world's most expensive hotel. But that's not all, the main attraction of the hotel is a 650ft wide pool perched up at the 55th storey of the magnificent hotel, making it the largest outdoor pool in the world that high. Called as the Infinity pool, the drop at the edge of the pool spills into a three-tiered catchment which pumps water right back to the main pool! The hotel also has a boat-shaped 'SkyPark' on top of the three towers.

The hotel features 2,560 rooms that would cost you $520 a night. Designed by Moshe Safdie, the structure is said to be based on the design resembling a deck of cards. The hotel décor includes an indoor canal that has Sampan boats to ride in, a casino, an outdoor plaza, a convention centre, a theatre, a crystal pavilion and a lotus flower shaped museum. The resort will open employment to over 10,000 locals, enough to generate $72m each year.

Aston-Martin's new car One-77 has certainly come out as a winner amongst many prototypes at the Concorso d’Eleganza. It seems that the sound it's capable of making is nothing short of awe inspiring. You have to expect a loud roar with the 7.3-liter V12. Apparently, the sound is so ear shattering that it really reverbated off the Villa d’Este’s walls. You have to hear it to believe it. The sound stood out amongst other powerful noises made by engines of a Jaguar D-Type, a Lamborghini Miura and various Ferrari 250 GT’s, so you can grasp what I am saying. I'm completely floored hearing the Aston's engine rev. Being worth $1.75 million, it better sound like this.

300 million dollar Yacht

Imagine just walking around the Richardson Bay and spotting 390-foot yacht parked right there! Atleast that is what greeted spectators off Sausalito, as Russian billionaire Andrey Melnichenko$300 million yacht called “A” stood parked at the bay. Owned by Melnichenko and his wife Nikolic Melnichenko, the yacht features a 2,500-square-foot master suite, three swimming pools and has entry secured by a fingerprint access system. The all white bomb proof vessel also comes equipped with six cabins, 37-member cabin crew and 5-member staff, hot tubs, pools, spas and a 60-inch plasma TV retracting from the ceiling just adjacent to a king-size bed on a rotating platter.

One of the rooms is said to be done up in white stingray leather, another is made with hand-stiched calf leather. The main deck however contains chairs crafted out of alligator skins and Kudo horns. So opulent is the entire set up, that the two main landing boats for the ships are 36-feet mini yachts in themselves, costing over $1 million a piece!
